Polar Plunge 2017

Hailey Fruitger

This year, eleven of the NHS students are participating in raising money for the Polar Plunge. The event is for Special Olympics Illinois. There are 22 different locations and our students will be in Rock Island at Wick’s Lake near Jumer’s on March 19th. Each student must raise at least $100 to participate. Registration is due by the 18th and check in time starts at 12:30. All proceeds benefit more than 22,000 traditional athletes and 20,000 Young Athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. It is a rewarding cause because those who participate receive a free sweatshirt and the participant with most donations can win cash prizes of up to $1,000. If you would like to take part in the event, you can go to the website https://www.soill.org/polar-plunge/ or contact Jennifer Davis at [email protected]. Thanks to all who help at the event and for raising awareness for special olympic athletes.
